30,000 Monkies is a noisy experimental four-piece from Beringen, Belgium. "Somewhere Over The Painbow" is the band's second EP release.
Finding inspiration in the likes of Harvey Milk, Melvins, Sleep and The Flaming Lips, 30,000 Monkies walks their own path in everything loud n' heavy. Somewhere Over The Painbow offers four mesmerizing tracks of the most devastating, and above all, strangest sludge you will probably hear this year. A refreshing addition and original breeze in both sound and production. Unexpected and dynamic. Ugly and phenomenal.
Australia's heaviest 5 piece has been reawakened! Melbourne's Clagg returns with a crushing full-length after 4 long years...
Weedpecker is one of those rare bands that get a lot of things right straight from the start. The grungy approach to the stoner psychedelic genre gives them a lot of play area and they use it wisely.
They are sometimes reminiscent to Alice in Chains and often I feel like I hear influences of a less frantic Mastodon with a very Grunge like approach in the vein of Neil Young’s bluesy riffs and Rush’s symphonies. Try to delve in some of the bands past or developments, results in a bizarre confrontation with the Polish language. And before now I never had an idea there was something the Polish were specifically well known for or good at. Until WeedPecker that is, this band puts Poland single handedly on the music map and very high at that.
